Long before Handmade Affair became a brand, Beggars Corporation gave us something every dream needs, a place to begin.
When Handmade Affair was still just an idea, they welcomed us into their workshop in Varanasi, where we created our very first samples and found ourselves surrounded by people who believed in building ideas with purpose. The entrepreneurial and creative environment gave us the confidence to experiment, learn, and take our first steps.
Even today, Chandra Mishra, Founder of Beggars Corporation, continues to be one of our closest mentors. Whenever we're stuck, looking for direction, or exploring something new, he's someone we can always turn to for guidance.
As Handmade Affair grew, Beggars Corporation also opened the doors to their e-commerce platform, allowing our products to reach customers through the Beggars Corporation Studio marketplace. It remains an important part of our journey.
Though not on paper, Beggars Corporation will always be our parent organisation. We continue to collaborate on thoughtful products, conduct training sessions at their workshop, and receive guidance and mentorship whenever needed. As a small homegrown brand, we're grateful to always have their support.
While building Handmade Affair, we always believed that if we ever had the opportunity, we'd give back by sharing our skills and experience. Through a mutual connection, we met Neelu Di, who welcomed our idea of collaborating with Lakshya Pathshala.
Together, we've had the opportunity to contribute to their ongoing skill development initiatives by sharing our crochet knowledge and experience with the young learners. Today, it's wonderful to see the children creating beautiful handmade products with confidence and creativity. For us, this collaboration is a reminder that skills become even more meaningful when they're shared.
